Alan Tiras

E. Alan Tiras has a diverse background in both law and business. A graduate of the University of Texas, he graduated with degrees in both accounting and finance with two years of mechanical and electrical engineering. After a stint in the oil business in the mid-80's, he went back to school where he graduated with his Jurisdoctorate degree and M.B.A. from the University of Houston.

After graduation, Mr. Tiras and his family moved to Incline Village, Nevada where he went into private practice and focused his representation on business law matters and where he developed a passion working with start-up and nascent companies. Besides assisting in the organization of these businesses, he has, and continues to serve as Outside General Counsel for other smaller companies utilizing his comprehensive network of other service providers.
He is licensed to practice law in Nevada (1991) and is a member of the Nevada State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Washoe County Bar Association. He is a current member and past President of the Incline Village Bar Association.
In addition to his work as an attorney, Mr. Tiras has also served in an executive or management capacity for several companies.

From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Tiras was CEO and director of Incline Technologies, Inc., a young medical supply company. Initially retained to handle crisis intervention, he converted the firm from a decentralized operation with no product quality control or sales to a centrally managed operation with its own sales force, manufacturing, and fulfillment. During his tenure, sales increased more than 2,800%.

In 1998, Mr. Tiras took the interim role as Chairman, CEO and President of Carbon Based Corporation, a medical-research reporting company he had previously co-founded, and for which he served on the board of directors. He again successfully handled crisis intervention bringing stability to Carbon Based and bringing the business to operational profitability.

In 1999, he founded in response to an opportunity to utilize the Internet as an efficient communication medium for technology licensed from Carbon Based Corporation. The HealthDirector board of directors made a conscious decision to turn-down significant funding opportunities and chose to raise only those funds necessary to fund the company through product development and test marketing. In 2000, after development was successfully completed, due to financial market dynamics, the company was unable to find additional funds in order to market the company’s products and was unable to sustain itself. Mr. Tiras consolidated operations and liquidated assets in order to allow the company to continue. HealthDirector is presently dormant.
